These drawings form the basis for the lino portraits and include as many members of the crew as possible including the porters, engineers, the explorer and experts.

At sea all roles are vital and it is evident the core crew extends to everyone except guests. Critical roles include the Captain, bosun, porters, engineers, crew and chefs and expedition leaders. Many members are often overlooked in the press and historical references as we quote company names instead of individual names. The team expands and contracts depending on the mission objective for each sailing.
